It's a movie that requires a lot of thought since EVERYTHING represents something. I even saw one review that said "how did they know that the platform is not reaching the ceiling at the top floor -it could kill them- Well, OF COURSE the platform cant bang on the ceiling since someone has to place the buffet there. What's the point of a platform banging on the freaking ceiling? After that, it s a REPRESENTATION. You can't interpret this movie literally. Everything is an Allegory! Please, read some reviews here that have the interpretation of every character and scene. You will immediately think... wow! It will be really helpful.

Y no, la china no pudo elegir a su hija como objeto para entrar ya que eligió un ukulele y eso se dice cuando están en la plataforma 33. LA NIÑA NO EXISTIÓ. Lo que llegó arriba fue la pannacota, pero ellos no entendieron el mensaje y pensaron que nadie se lo comió porque tenía un pelo, por eso el chef se enoja. Es una analogía que ocurre en el mundo, los de arriba no se preocupan por los de abajo y cuando hacen una protesta para cambiar las cosas ellos se preocupan más por la superficialidad de las cosas que por la supervivencia humana, porque claro, los pobres que se mueran de hambre mientras los ricos hacen berrinches por un pelito en su comida. Hay mucha metáfora en la película, no todo es literal y por eso la convierte en una buena película.

This has nothing to do with their accents or english or anything, but their whole vibe reminds me of 2 students presenting a project haha. Gisaengchung pelicula completa. The comparison of the poor Kim family to parasites is not clear from the beginning. Their underground "apartment" does stink and yes, bad enough, they have to look at a drunken guy pee in front of them during dinner. No job, no hope, no direction, the bland and quiet acceptance of their status quo at the beginning makes me wonder how they resonate with the film title.
However, step by step, through perfect acting schemes, the well thought out ploys, they make a dream of living off of the Parks come true, thereby transforming themselves into parasites. Throughout the period when they enjoy the "improving" living standards: from eating in the dungeon to a treat dinner with the drivers, to the actual pizzas whose boxes they were making to earn bread and butter, etc. All this time I struggle with the heartbreaking fact that at least three parties (1) the Parks (2) the previous driver (3) the previous maid were all innocently suffering from the Kims' wrongdoing. The lack of apologetic thinking is absolutely horrifying. Yet when the class difference is so drastic, I am not sure whether they are too be judged. After all what other options do they have, without a morally sound means to access anything else other than their smelly dungeon? It only became more intense when the previous maid showed her true parasitic self, together with her husband.
"Money is an almighty iron that straightens out all wrinkles. on the surface yes, but it is exactly this dangerous, monotonic pursuit of money, and money only, that has cost three families their chance to make peace with what is given.
"People with money are always nice." It sounds almost absurd and I can think of millions of counterexamples, yet the director sets the story up exactly this way in the film. I think I dare thinking outside of the film context, it is rather that "the people who do not have money sometimes cannot afford to be nice." Either way, when the cutoff of wealth is base-line subsistence, it is clear that dignity is at risk.
What is the dad's plan? It sounds like a family who are so good at planning "scenes" to act out in fact have not a clue about planning long term for their lives. Is planning also out of reach for a lot of the poor? It turns a bit positive when the boy sets himself a goal to one day make enough money to buy that mansion, but is that enough? Or is it rather another episode of self-deceiving wishful thinking only.

Its purpose was to take the One Ring to Mordor that it might be cast into the fires of Mount Doom, the mountain in which it was forged, so that it would be destroyed and ultimately kill the Dark Lord Sauron. The Fellowship was also known as the Company of the Ring, the Nine Walkers, or more simply the Company. Each of the members of the Company were representatives of their respective races, with Legolas and Gimli being the only Elf and Dwarf chosen, respectively. History Formation Formed after the Council of Elrond, the Fellowship consisted of nine members: four Hobbits, two Men, one Elf, one Dwarf, and one Wizard. It was the only known organisation ever formed in the history of Middle-earth to hold members of each of these races within it (and with the departure of the Elves and the Wizards from Middle-earth, there would never be another like it), who largely lived and acted independently of one another. This number was chosen to match the number of Ringwraiths, or Nazgûl. They were soon confronted by the Balrog known as Durin's Bane, who had many Orc and Troll minions under his control. Gandalf fell facing this menace, and the Company was forced to go on without him. Once they escaped Moria, the Fellowship headed to the Elven forest of Lothlórien where they spoke with the Elven Lord Celeborn and Galadriel, Lady of Light. Galadriel supplied them each with special Elven Gifts from Lothlórien, boats and supplies so that they could travel down the river Anduin. This route was quicker than an overland march, but the group was attacked by Orc archers and shadowed by Gollum, who had begun following them in Moria. Forced to portage their boats around the waterfall called Rauros, the Fellowship soon ran into difficulties. Boromir finally succumbed to temptation, and attempted to seize the Ring from Frodo. This led to Frodo using the Ring to escape and he and Sam leaving to spare the others the lure of it. The repentant Boromir died trying to defend Merry and Pippin against a large force of Uruks from Isengard. The Fellowship was dissolved on the banks of the Anduin that day. Frodo and Sam carried on towards Mordor; Boromir was given funerary rites and sent floating over the falls, and Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli departed on their way to save Merry and Pippin. Breaking of the Fellowship After Boromir died the Fellowship split into three paths. From there Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli chased after the Uruk-hai who took Merry and Pippin. Their plan was to take the hobbits to Saruman in Isengard. Along the way the trio crossed through the Gap of Rohan and came across Éomer who led the banished Riders of Rohan across the land. After questioning Éomer, they found out that the riders had already slain the Uruk-hai they were meant to track, the night before in a bloody massacre. So upon arriving to site of battle, Aragorn discovers that the hobbits fled deep into Fangorn Forest. Gandalf, though thought to be dead when he fell at the Bridge of Khazad-dûm in Moria, came back to Middle-earth, reincarnated as Gandalf the White. He encountered Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli in Fangorn, and they, mistaking Gandalf for Saruman, attempted to kill him. Gandalf assured them that Merry and Pippin were safe (knowing they were in the hands of Treebeard). From there they rode out to Edoras, capital of Rohan. It was there they saw King Theoden in ill-condition, poisoned by Saruman's servant Grima Wormtongue. Frodo and Sam continued their journey, getting closer to Mordor. Gollum had tailed them. While attempting to take "the precious" in their sleep, Frodo and Sam awoke and captured him. Frodo realizing who he was decided Gollum could be used as guide into Mordor. Perhaps one of the most beautiful stories and movies I've ever watched. Superb acting from the main actor, I'm completely mindblown - if he doesn't get nominated for an Oscar, I'm never watching the Oscars again (reminded me of Leo DiCaprio on What's Eating Gilbert Grape. This actor plays a mentally ill father in the most convincing and beautiful way possible. Two words for him: absolutely amazing.
